"Spiritual transformation calls for changing the mind from a prisoner of the three qualities (Gunas) to one that is bound to God. You have to acquire the firm conviction that the Divine is the basis and Sustainer of the Universe."
Sathya Sai Baba
The work of the spiritual wing is to help devotees with their sadhana through activities in the Sai Organisation. There are at present 2 Sai Centres and 6 Bhajan Groups around Hong Kong.
Bi-weekly Bhajans are held on Thursday and Sunday at the TST Centre from 6:30 p.m. – 7:45 p.m., and on Sundays at the Tsuen Wan Centre at the same time. Bhajans are followed by recitation of the Gayatri Mantra (click), Sai Three, Jyoti Meditation (click), reading of Swami’s message, Arathi and Vibhuti mantra. Bhajan Learning Classes in the TST Centre are held between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, and Vedic chanting classes are held at the same time on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.
A number of Study Circles are conducted throughout the week in English, Chinese, Nepalese and Sindhi in the two Centres and in the Bhajan Groups. Details of these are available from our Weekly Activity Chart.
Presentations are frequently held after Thursday bhajans on a variety of topics of interest to devotees, including Educare, the significance of the various festivals celebrated, significance of ararthi and vibuthi mantra, etc.
In 2003 a special 9 week presentation was held after Thursday bhajans on the spiritual significance of Swami’s Code of Conduct. In 2004, a 10 week presentation was held on Devotion and the 9 Forms of Devotion. The essays of this presentation can be found elsewhere on this website. A book entitled “The 9 Forms of Devotion” has been compiled and is now available at the bookstore in Prashanti Nilayam.
In 2005, a series of 11 talks on the “Universality of Swami’s Teachings” were held. After an introduction on “Religion and the Unity of Faiths”, talks on the essence of Islam, Christianity, Zorastrianism, Buddhism and Hinduism were given, the first three by clergy from the respective religions, the fourth by an academic, and the fifth by a Sai devotee. Each of these talks were followed by a devotee’s comparison of Swami’s teachings and the religion.
Fortnightly Suprabhatum is chanted at the TST Centre on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7:30 a.m. onwards, with a few bhajans are offered thereafter until 8:00 a.m. Special training on the proper pronunciation of the Suprabhatum has been conducted.
Namavali is offered by certain devotees in turn each day, and weekly reading of the Shirdi Sai Satcharitra and Tapovanam is also done.
In June 2003, a special 2 ½ hour presentation on the importance of Sai’s Namavali was held. As it was not possible to explain each Name, the talks were on a number of themes derived from the many Names. The essays can be found elsewhere on this website.
Festivals are celebrated in both Centres, including Christmas, Lunar New Year, Mahashivaratri, Guru Poornima, Akhand Bhajans and Baba’s Birthday. Baba’s Birthday is the most important event and is celebrated with morning prayers at 5 a.m. and an evening cultural programme which normally lasts about 3 hours. Normally about 1,500 people attend the evening programme.

Sadhana Camp is held annually. Camps were held in 2002, 2003, 2004 and for the first time by the Tsuen Wan Centre in 2005.
Our Sai Quarterly carries Swami’s latest discourses, special features, personal contributions and contributions from the Youth, Bal Vikas, and Chinese and Nepalese devotees. There is also an Educare page which provides insights on nurturing values in children, a must for teachers and parents. Since 2005 the Quarterly has been improved with colour centre pages. The Quarterly is distributed locally and read by many non-Sai devotees.
Our annual Sai Sarathi is released on Bhagawan’s Birthday and contains Swami’s discourses, contributions, annual reports from the wings of the Organisation. A special edition of the Sai Sarathi 2005 was published for the 80th Birthday on the theme Unity, Purity and Divinity.
