Baba: Sathya Sai by Sri. R.Ganapati

This book is the English translation of the Tamil book ‘Svami’, which was a magnificent and significant tribute to Sathya Sai Baba. Sri Ganapati is a devoted reader of the world’s classics and a deep scholar of scriptural texts in various languages. He leads us in this book into the caves of monks and mystics, the hermitages of sages, the debating halls of pundits, to add weight and significance to our adoration of Baba. He unravels the esoteric meanings of the names of the Avatar, of the words and axioms that emanate from Him to quench the thirst of Light and Love. In this book, we are awarded with rare nuggets of illumination, which reveal countless facets of Baba’s uniqueness.

harmony.jpg (30739 bytes) Harmony

In the early messages of Baba, one could see an effort to unite different religions by calling them as different facets of humanity, in sayings like ‘There is only one religion, the religion of love’, ‘There is only one caste, the caste of humanity’. From religion, the emphasis is shifted to practising moral values such as Truth, righteousness, peace love and non-violence which are basic to all faiths. The present messages of Baba transcend even these values and address directly to humanism, when He says ‘removal of immortality leads to immortality’. One is stunned when Baba replies ‘You are also god, but you are not aware of it’ for a question whether He is God. Baba emphasized the aspect of the unity of humanity and the need for humanism in our daily life. Some of these messages are put together in this book.

Sai Baba focuses the attention of managers, indeed all who work and conduct an activity, on their sacred obligations to be dedicated to and be of service to the motherland. And their primary moral responsibility to make positive contributions to the well-being of mankind and society, with emphasis on the quality of life for everyone with special attention to the betterment of the less fortunate and the deprived, above everything else, especially ahead of self-interest. Though this book is addressed more to managers in India, it is hoped that it might be of some interest to other managers elsewhere.

Loving God by N. Kasturi

Each person has to live the volumes of biography, which we bring with us, page after page, howsoever punctuated with dots and dashes, interrogations and exclamations, commas and colons, until the sentence ends ultimately with a Full Stop. The author says ‘Luckily I have as my inseparable consul, Bhagavan Himself; He dots the I’s and crosses the t’s as I live the lines on every page. He has made the Book of Life my biography – momentous and meaningful for me’. This book contains a bunch of the author’s reminiscences, which may be welcomed by many readers.
Sai Baba – Man of Miracles by Howard Murphet

Sai Baba, his followers believe him to be a reincarnation of Sai Baba of Shirdi who died in 1918, appears to have been born with phenomenal powers, which he uses in childhood and has employed constantly and openly ever since. They include all varieties of E.S.P. and P.K. known to psychic science and more besides. The author, a Westerner devoted to science and logic, spent many months with Sathya Sai Baba; he claims to have found that his ‘unscientific’, ‘illogical’ miracles were, in fact, genuine yogic siddis. He found, too, that along with Christ-like miraculous powers went a Christ-like love, compassion and the God-knowledge that opens the door to a new vision of life.
Sai Baba – The Holy Man and the Psychiatrist by Samuel H. Sandweiss, M.D.

Dr Sandweiss, in this thought-provoking book on Bhagavan Baba, has opened up three main avenues of communications: a fascinating narration of his own experiences with Baba; his probe, as a psychiatrist, into the roots of psychiatry and his consequent discovery that what passes as psychiatry is an incomplete science and that quite essential additions have to be made to it from the field of spiritual awareness to make it truly effective; and the reproduction, from Baba’s writings and speeches, of passages which are regarded by Dr Sandweiss as key passages for an exploration of Baba’s teachings.
Summer Showers in Brindavan

It is only when God comes amidst men as an avatar, that He will be close to man and will be able to set an example to human beings. Only then, he will be able to correct the ways of human beings. Because God comes as an avatar in human form, man is able to see and experience some ideal examples, in real life situations. This books covers discourses of Bhagavan Baba on Indian Culture & Spirituality. It is hoped that readers will take some of the great examples and get them deeply imprinted in their minds and become ideals to others.
